About
PERHAPS YOU THOUGHT THIS…
Being a woman over 40 would mean that leaks and accidents are just part of life. Whether due to childbirth or with age. Not to mention Interrupted sleep due to multiple bathroom trips at night. And Planning out your bathroom stops whenever you leave the home. These issues can cause stress on your emotions, time, and money.
OR…
For those of you dealing with vision and balance issues, you may feel your only option is to rely on wearing prism glasses when dealing with double vision. Maybe the cause of the double vision is unclear. Or you feel you have to live with dizziness if the maneuvers to reposition the crystals in your ear were not effective. These issues lead to poorer balance, inability to handle crowded stores, sudden changes in lighting and environmental stimuli, as well as difficulty reading.
MAYBE YOU'VE FOUND YOURSELF
Experiencing bladder leaks and urgency
Managing the symptoms of overactive bladder and urinary incontinence can be challenging and you may not know who to ask for help. Compassionate therapy helps your body come into balance and regain its natural function easily so you can have less stress and rest well at night while avoiding medications and surgical interventions.
Having urinary incontinence and lost the urge or signal to empty your bladder?
Often the loss of urge to empty your bladder leading to uncontrolled voiding is due to weak and then non-existent signals between the bladder and the pelvic floor. With simple signals activated by muscle use, the bladder and pelvic floor can often resume communication leading to significantly increased bladder control. I bring you through the simple, steady steps to success, paced for your needs with no invasive techniques.
Having difficulty with balance or vertigo?
Having balance or vertigo issues that were not helped by physical therapy to reposition the crystals in your ear? Living with ongoing, unpredictable bouts of dizziness and vertigo? If you have tried other avenues without success, these issues can be caused by visual problems related to how your eye muscles work. And just like any muscle in the body, they can become stronger and more coordinated which directly affects your balance and decreases dizziness.
Struggling with double vision and reading?
Have new prescription glasses that you can’t adjust to, find yourself over stimulated by visual input, seeing double, never liked reading? An old injury to the head can lead to vision troubles later in life. An often-overlooked area of eye function is the coordination of your eye muscles. This improved coordination and speed of muscle function allows your eyes to work together so you can take in your changing environment and make clearer visual sense of the world around you. As an Occupational Therapist trained in Low Vision Therapy, I offer a unique route for healing that is not offered by Ophthamologists nor Optometrists. They can diagnose and I can help you function with the diagnosis so you can live a fuller life.

At CAMILLE BANAY, Occupational Therapy I believe in your body’s ability to RESTORE its NATURAL FUNCTION. Here’s how I help:
ELIMINATE LEAKING NATURALLY
Your pelvic floor is like any other muscle in your body. It needs to be able to respond to bladder needs with appropriate timing and strength. Gently improving strength and coordination of these muscles often resolves leaking and many other bladder control issues.
BE ABLE TO READ AND BALANCE
Your eyes function with pairs of coordinated muscle movements. These muscles need exercise to stay coordinated and move through their full range to decrease double vision and dizziness. I analyze your eye function and how it relates to your balance and ability to read. Then we work on the specific areas that need help. This allows you to read for more than 2-3 minutes without headaches, be able to watch tv, stay balanced while moving through busy areas such as a grocery store.
EASE THE STRESS OF DAY TO DAY
If you are addressing bladder control issues, you will be able to enjoy a more restful night’s sleep and have less stress leaving the home, not having to use the bathroom one more time “just in case,” or plan out every bathroom stop on your errand run, and no more pads!
If you are resolving vision and balance issues, you will also be able to leave the home with less worry and stress, knowing your eyes are more coordinated and functioning smoothly and timely to take in your environment and not send you distress signals

Meet CAMILLE BANAY - Your Bladder Control, Low Vision, and Balance Therapist Serving Whatcom County, WA
I love helping clients manage bladder issues because it is a game changer.
I stumbled into this area of therapy after taking some required classes and found it filled a need for so many of my patients. Only after seeing things shift and how symptoms resolved for my patients, did I realize I was dealing with unresolved overactive bladder myself a year after giving birth. I thought things would naturally improve. But they didn’t. So, I used the same exercises and habit changes and resolved my own symptoms.
Since then, I have refined and simplified the exercises and teachings to make them simple and easy to apply. I know how stressful and time consuming it can be to deal with urgency, frequency, and nocturia and be under the radar for what one might think of as incontinence issues.
So, I love sharing these simple solutions that are customized for each client so you too can relax and not have these symptoms running your day.
Similarly, for Low Vision Therapy, I also took a required course and found it fascinating how our nervous system accommodates for visual changes. I learned how to help people maximize the vision they had remaining when dealing with macular degeneration. And later I saw patient’s balance and reading abilities improve when they may not have even realized vision issues were part of the equation.
Sharing this knowledge in this niche area is a joy for me. Helping solve the puzzle that each person is dealing with when challenged by balance and reading issues by bringing in the visual function piece is a unique offering at my clinic.
For those who are motivated for change and seeking natural solutions, I offer these services to help adults resolve bladder control issues, low vision, dizziness, balance, and reading challenges.
